Mesa, Arizona (PRWeb) June 13, 2013Aviation Performance Solutions LLC, an Arizona-based flight school, announced today their advancement of upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT) solutions to the commercial aviation training industry into a new era. Only at APS can professional civilian jet pilots experience, first-hand in real high-performance aerobatic-capable jet trainers, the unique challenges of high-altitude flight operations to include stalls, high-mach conditions, all-attitude upset prevention and recovery scenarios as well as the direct transfer of core upset knowledge and skills to the high-altitude high-performance operational regimes.

Effectively delivered upset recovery training mitigates the loss of control in-flight (LOC-I) threat to commercial air safety through pilot education and practical skill development. LOC-I is defined as flight that occurs outside of the normal flight envelope with an inability of the pilot to control the aircraft. In a report issued by Boeing in July 2012, the Commercial Aviation Safety Team’s statistical research identifies LOC-I as the cause of the most crash-related fatalities in commercial aviation worldwide over the past 10 years, 2002 through 2011.

“Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) continues to lead the industry in multi-faceted pilot training interventions to avert occurrences of loss of control in-flight (LOC-I) events in commercial aviation. In our judgment, the APS addition of the A-4 Skyhawk to our highly-acclaimed integrated UPRT training solutions, launches a new era in the industry’s crusade against LOC-I, the number one threat to the air safety of the traveling public.” said Paul BJ Ransbury, President of APS, former airline pilot, military instructor pilot and 4-time Master Certified Flight Instructor, “It is the responsibility of commercial aviation operators around the world to implement industry-standardized loss of control in-flight solutions for pilots to effectively recognize and prevent an airplane upset. When unpreventable, and faced with a severe flight condition beyond the thresholds of everyday experience, pilots must have the fundamental knowledge and practical skills necessary to recover the airplane to controlled flight when confronted with a high-stress time-critical airplane upset situation.” Effective UPRT must enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes that exist within the limited confines of today’s licensing training at home and around the world as it applies to LOC-I.
A4 Jet Upset Recovery TrainingComprehensive UPRT must then complement current training in a manner that is transferable, limits the risk of negative training, and can be directly correlated to an unexpected upset event.
